Christmas Cards or Winter Cards for all Occasions
From original paintings in gouache by Linda Blackburne
Five original gouache paintings of the North York Moors have been printed as Christmas cards and winter cards for all occasions.
The 140mm x 140mm, silk-coated cards are blank inside for your own personal message. Each card has information about the painting on the back (see below).
They cost £2.50 each or the discounted price of £11.50 for five, including P&P.
Art cards are available from The Oaks, Gill Lane, Rosedale Abbey, YO18 8SE. Tel 01751 417988 or scroll down to buy online. The cards are also for sale at Graze on the Green cafe in Rosedale Abbey and the Sutton Bank National Park Centre near Thirsk.
Limited-edition, fine-art, giclée prints are also available by special request. An A3-size, mounted print (29.7cm x 42cm), for example, would cost £50. Call Linda on 01751 417988 for an informal chat about your requirements – or send an email to info@therollingenglishcompany.uk.
Virgin Snow at Chimney Bank Top
Many a car – and even a milk tanker – has come a cropper on Rosedale Chimney Bank during the icy winter months. Cars are often abandoned on the moor after slithering off the road despite signs warning drivers to avoid the 1-in-3 hill in wintry conditions.

Inquisitive Sheep
Two inquisitive sheep at Bank Top, Rosedale Abbey, were happy to be photographed at close range. They probably thought the photographer was carrying food. The snowy backdrop is the scenic drive to Hartoft and Pickering.

Night Sky at Ana Cross
Ana Cross marks a medieval route across the moor between Lastingham and the site of Rosedale Priory. The Grade-II- listed, Christian way marker dates back to 1949 when the original medieval cross was moved to Lastingham Church crypt. The monument includes buried and earthwork remains of a prehistoric burial mound.

Christmas in Rosedale Abbey
The Rosedale Abbey community erect a Christmas tree on the village green every December. It is the only month of the year when the village’s magnificent sycamore tree and the 1953 coronation bench are upstaged by festive majesty.
